Somdev in doubles semifinals at Singapore Challenger

SINGAPORE: Asian Games gold medallist, Somdev Devvarman combined with South African Rik De Voest to script a come-from-behind win over Dmitry Tursonov of Russia and Chinese Taipei's Jimmy Wang and advance to the semifinal of the men's doubles event at the Singapore ATP Challenger.

Devvarman and De Voest edged out the Tursonov-Wang pair 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 after trailing 5-7 in the tie break.

The pair will take on second seeds Sonchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana of Thailand in the semifinals.

The Thai twins scored a 7-6(5), 2-6, 10-5 win over India's Purav Raja and Fillipino Conrad Treat Huey in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Devvarman has also made it to the quartefinals of the singles event after registering a comfortable straight sets victory over Australian John Millman on Thursday.
